Misdemeanors

Misdemeanor Lawyer in Long Beach, Los Angeles & Orange County

Being charged with a misdemeanor, or any crime, can be devastating and cause friction within your family structure. In California, there are three levels of offenses: felonies, misdemeanors, and infractions. A misdemeanor conviction does not carry the possibility of a prison sentence, but people who are convicted may spend time in county jail and put on

probation for several years. Common misdemeanors in California include driving under the influence, domestic battery, petty theft, lewd conduct, and trespassing. While misdemeanors won’t result in extensive prison time, they will appear on criminal background checks so it’s imperative that you obtain an experienced lawyer who can advocate for you.

Will my misdemeanor case go to court?

In any crime case, even one that’s a misdemeanor, you will be arraigned and have to enter a plea of guilty or not guilty. Afterward, you and your defense team will accept the court’s ruling by executing the penalty or deciding to fight it in a trial.
